FIR Montevideo Utils

The FIR Montevideo offers a series of utilities and tools designed to facilitate the community's experience on the VATSIM network and in the main flight simulators.

These utilities are designed for both pilots and controllers, adapted to the needs of each role within the flight simulation.

  • For pilots, you'll find tools that make flight planning easier, access to information on local procedures, and utilities that improve immersion and realism when flying in Uruguay.
  • For controllers, we have resources that support training, online coordination, and the correct application of ATC procedures in our region.

The goal is to provide all users with a more comprehensive, organized, and accessible environment, where each tool contributes to a more professional experience that is closer to real-world operations.

The Montevideo FIR community works constantly to keep these utilities updated and continuously improving, ensuring that each pilot and controller has the necessary support to fully enjoy the simulation in VATSIM.

Tools for Pilots
vPilot
{{brizy_dc_image_alt imageSrc=

vPilot is one of the official clients of VATSIM, designed to allow pilots to connect to the network in a simple, lightweight and reliable way. It is the most recommended software for users of Microsoft Flight Simulator and Prepar3D, offering an intuitive interface that makes it easy to start online simulation.

xPilot
{{brizy_dc_image_alt imageSrc=

xPilot is the official VATSIM client developed specifically for X-Plane users. It is a modern and lightweight software that allows pilots to connect to the network stably, enjoy realistic voice communications and correctly display air traffic in the simulator.

Swift
{{brizy_dc_image_alt imageSrc=

Swift is an official VATSIM client developed with a multi-platform approach, making it an ideal choice for pilots using different simulators and operating systems. It is also recommended for older flight simulators such as FS2004/FS9 and FlightGear. It is designed to offer a stable connection, full traffic support, and realistic voice communications within the network.

FlyByWire Air Traffic Simulations Package
{{brizy_dc_image_alt imageSrc=

FSLTL (FS Live Traffic Liveries) is an AI traffic package developed by FlyByWire Simulations, designed to bring realistic aircraft models and liveries to modern simulators. Its integration with VATSIM allows pilots to see much more faithful representations of the aircraft connected to the network, improving immersion and realism in every flight session.

Custom FSLTL VA Liveries
{{brizy_dc_image_alt imageSrc=

The Custom FSLTL VA Liveriespack adds custom virtual airline textures not included in the official FlyByWire FSLTL package. These additional liveries make it possible to faithfully represent the specific colors and brandings of different Virtual Airlines (VA) within VATSIM, further enhancing the visual immersion when flying over a network.

It is important to clarify that this package requires having previously installed the official FlyByWire FSLTL, since it uses their aircraft models as a base. Without the installation of the main package, custom liveries will not be able to be displayed correctly.

YourControls
{{brizy_dc_image_alt imageSrc=

YourControls is a program that allows multiple people to connect their simulators in a single, shared flight cockpit. Tasks can be distributed among the crew members: one pilots the aircraft, and another controls the radios and autopilot. Flying in VATSIM has never been so immersive.

Tools for Drivers
EUROSCOPE
{{brizy_dc_image_alt imageSrc=

EuroScope is a specialized ATC radar software designed for simulation, widely used on the VATSIM network by virtual air traffic controllers. Its main objective is to recreate, in a realistic and professional way, the tools used by controllers in the real world, offering a complete interface adaptable to the needs of each FIR or ACC.

FIR Montevideo Sectorfile
{{brizy_dc_image_alt imageSrc=

The sector file of the Montevideo FIR for EuroScope contains all the information necessary to provide virtual air control on the network VATSIM within Uruguayan airspace.

Includes:

  • Boundaries of the Montevideo FIR.
  • Major and secondary airports
  • Navigation points, airways and standard procedures.
  • Local configurations adapted to operation in VATSIM.

This file is essential for controllers to work with an accurate representation of Uruguay's airspace, ensuring realism and consistency in each control session.

Sweet BOX for EuroScope
{{brizy_dc_image_alt imageSrc=

The SweatBox is a traffic simulation tool designed for use with EuroScope.

Its objective is to recreate control scenarios with virtual aircraft that are not connected to VATSIM, making it an ideal resource for ATC trainingand individual practice.

Main features

  • Realistic air traffic simulation, allowing control training without having to rely on online pilots.
  • Configurable scenarios, adapted to different levels of complexity and traffic load.
  • Compatible with profiles and sectors of the FIR Montevideo, ensuring a practice environment tailored to local operations.
  • Ideal for training and self-study, offering instructors and students a practical resource to improve their EuroScope skills

The SweatBox is therefore an essential tool for virtual air traffic control training, providing the possibility of practicing independently before providing service on the VATSIM network.

Audio for Vatsim
{{brizy_dc_image_alt imageSrc=

Audio for VATSIM (AFV) is the official communications system of the VATSIM network, designed to offer a more realistic and modern voice experience between pilots and virtual controllers.

Main features

  • High-fidelity audio quality:Clear and crisp sound, similar to real aviation communications.
  • VHF propagation simulation: Coverage and quality depend on distance and line of sight, just like in real life.
  • 8.33 kHz frequency spacing: Compatibility with modern aviation standards.
  • Spatial positioning: Possibility of perceiving audio according to the direction and relative location of the aircraft.
  • Full integration with VATSIM: Works seamlessly when connected as a pilot or controller.
TrackAudio
{{brizy_dc_image_alt imageSrc=

TrackAudio is a next-generation ATC “Audio for VATSIM” client, designed as a modern replacement for VectorAudio, and available for Windows, macOS, and Linux. It's designed to give you fine control over radio audio (volumes/mute per radio), dual PTT options, built-in support for UNICOM and Guard, and extras like Stream Deck integration, a compact "mini-mode" with transparency, and an SDK (WebSocket/HTTP) for automating or extending functionality. GitHub

Featured

  • Cross-platform: Windows / macOS / Linux
  • Independent volume and mute for each radio
  • Dual Push-To-Talk + UNICOM/Guard built-in
  • Stream Deck + mini-mode with transparency
  • SDK for developers (WebSocket + HTTP).
vATIS for VATSIM
{{brizy_dc_image_alt imageSrc=

vATIS is an application designed to generate automatic terminal information systems (ATIS) broadcasts within the VATSIM network. Its objective is to provide virtual pilots with up-to-date airport meteorological and operational information, realistically replicating the ATIS system used in real aviation.

SUEO profile for vATIS
{{brizy_dc_image_alt imageSrc=

The SUEO vATIS profile allows controllers to generate and transmit Automatic Terminal Information Service (ATIS) for EuroScope and theVATSIM network, specifically configured for the SUMU and SULS.

Features

  • Includes the complete configuration for the SUEO dependency, adapted to the operation in the FIR Montevideo.
  • Facilitates the issuance of updated meteorological and operational information.
  • Ensures that connected pilots receive ATIS messages that are consistent and in line with local procedures.
  • It integrates directly with the vATIS software, working in parallel with EuroScope and Audio for VATSIM.

This profile is essential for controllers performing functions in SUEO_CTR, ensuring a more professional and realistic service on the network.

Exam sheet
